Energy Data Collection Rulemaking
Assembly Bill 802 (Williams, Chapter 590, Statutes of 2015) (AB 802) enhances and further defines the Energy Commission’s existing authority to collect data from utilities for use in developing the state’s energy demand forecast. Future energy demand forecasts will have greater emphasis on detailed, localized, and sector-specific analysis of energy demand trends. This more granular analysis will help support the state’s policy goals including setting, assessing and advancing the energy efficiency goals set forth in Senate Bill 350 (de Leon, Chapter 547, Statutes of 2015).
